Feels like home
Dating back to the 1400s, the building originally housed aristocratic residences, including those of the Strozzi and Minerbetti families. In 1835, architect Giovan Battista Silvestri unified Palazzo Gherardi-Uguccioni with Palazzo Altoviti-Sangalletti, shaping the harmonious façade that stands today. For over a century, the ground floor was home to Café Doney, a celebrated meeting place for Florence’s aristocracy from 1870 to 1989.
The Open Gallery at Milu Hotel invites you on an immersive artistic journey that weaves through staircases and guest floors, culminating in the library. This evolving collection transforms the hotel into a living gallery, showcasing thoughtfully curated artworks. Featuring international artists across diverse mediums—sculpture, installations, drawing, and photography—the rotating exhibition empowers you to bring a piece of this extraordinary experience home.
